- ArtMath Transformations
- Art often involves symmetry, and no artist shows this more than M. C.
Escher. The resources linked to this page are intended for a Standards based
project covering the Transformational Geometry units in Newfoundland's grade 9
and 10 curricula, and Unit 3 of the Standards' Core Curriculum for Year 2.

National Weather Report Module
- This is an overview of a unit in which students produce a national weather
report and a report on their understanding of the phenomena under study. It is
a highly condensed description. This unit focuses on the display and making
sense of numerical and graphical data, discerning patterns, making conjectures
based on the analysis of data, and the analysis of data sets with more than one
variable. It introduces some fundamental concepts of statistics and a variety
of statistical formats for displaying data. It builds extensively on
measurement skills and the use of scales and symbol systems and provides
opportunities for computation and use of calculators. Throughout the unit,
students are engaged in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and
communicating about mathematics.

- Computers &
Maths Teaching
- This web site (in Canberra, Australia) is used to publish some of the
worksheets, spreadsheets and assessment items that Peter Hobson has written
over recent years. These worksheets use computers to assist in teaching
sections from the Senior Secondary Maths Curriculum - year 11 & 12 students.
The majority of these worksheets deal with the function sketching sections in
their curriculum, and they are designed to allow the students to learn their
basic shapes, translation techniques etc. from the computer rather than the
blackboard. The software we use is shareware downloaded from the internet.
