It is aimed at students who need to revise some or all of the A level mathematical topics. You can find out more by looking at our WWW page. Go to URL: http://caliban.leeds.ac.uk (ip address 129.11.36.19) Installation guide for Transmath version 2.1 -------------------------------------------- This release is for MS Windows ver. 3.1 or better 0. You need the files disk1.exe, disk2.exe ,disk3.exe and disk4.exe. The doc.exe file is a compressed word document. Read the file userdoc.txt to find out more. The file survey.txt contain a simple questionaire. Please spend a small amount of your time to fill this in and return to us. Your replies will help us improve the software. 1. Copy the relevant .exe files in this ftp directory to the directory C:\transmat\ on your hard disk. 2. The .exe files are self-extracting files, simply doubleclick on them in the file manager to extract their contents. Rather than answering yes during extraction, you can type a (for all). 3. The above step will create the file setup.exe in the c:\transmat directory. Run this file by double-clicking on it in the file manager. Follow the instructions in the setup program and a group Transmath V2.1 Demonstration will be created. 4. To run, (! ensure windows is running !) doubleclick on the Transmath icon in the Transmath V2.1 Demonstration group or doubleclick on the file welcome.exe in the file manager. IMPORTANT - System Requirements -------------------------------- 486 DX preferred, but certainly need a co-processor on 386. 6Mbyte RAM and at least 10 Mbyte disk space for the Transmath files. else 386 with 4Mbytes and 10 Mbytes disk space (min spec). De-Intsllation -------------- Transmath is easy to de-install. If you have used the default for installing, all the transmath files should be in the directory c:\transmath. Deleting this directory (e.g. from the file manager) will also remove all the files in it. Copying - this is important --------------------------- You are not allowed to use Transmath for commercial gain without the consent of the authors. You are also not allowed to copy any of the graphics, animations, text or codes individually (e.g using screen dumps etc) for any reason without the permission of the authors. All rights reserved.
