Transmath Newsletter no. 3 -------------------------- Dear All, Not much has happened over the last month in terms of modules production. We're all busy trying to secure future funding for the project (lots of meetings, drafting proposals etc...) so I'm afraid this month's newsletter is going to be rather short. Zip files --------- A number of you have reported the failure of the self-extracting .exe files to self-extract. I've since replaced the exe files and had a friend in Portugal successfully ftp and extract the files. Alternatively, you can ftp the set of zip files in the directory /pub/fixes/ and extract these files using pkunzip.exe, a copy of which is in the same directory. Old Newsletters --------------- For those who are new to this list, you will find copies of the first two newsletters in the directory /pub/newsletters/ on our anonymous ftp server. Previous newsletters will tell you about our project, the hardware and software you need to run Transmath, joining and leaving this mailing list and publications about our project. See below on how to access the server. FTP --- All the completed transmath modules are available via anonymous ftp at caliban.leeds.ac.uk (ip address 129.11.36.19) **** Remember to change to binary mode before downloading the files.**** Sui Cheng --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Sui Cheng e-mail: sui@amsta.leeds.ac.uk Dr. Amanda Kelly e-mail: a.d.kelly@leeds.ac.uk Dr. Simon Maunder e-mail: simon@amsta.leeds.ac.uk Department of Applied Maths University of Leeds tel: (+44) 113 233 5174 Leeds LS2 9JT fax: (+44) 113 242 9925 U.K. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
