MacGnuPlot3.x.sea.hqx MacGnuPlot3.x.package.sea.hqx GNUPLOT is a command-driven interactive function plotting program. It is the Macintosh port of the public domain package available on unix, DOS, and Amiga platforms. The interface is a fixed size window that is typcial of command-driven environments. The "package" version contains all of the other version as well as the source code. Contained in the package are a number of good examples of the power of MacGnuPlot. These can be "loaded" with a command (not a selection from the Menu Bar) and the required graph is drawn in a modal window. The program allows for plotting of one or more functions on common axes, plots of surfaces, and parametric plots both of curves and surfaces. Data can be read from an external file and used to plot curves. Aside from the non-Mac-like interface, the program is quite powerful. There is an extensive manual in LaTex or troff/nroff (ms) format. It no information specific to the Macintosh implementation, but is none-the-less quite helpful. The program runs under system 6.07 as well as system 7. I have run in under system 7.1 in 32-bit mode with no difficulties. -------------------------------------------------------------- Location in Mathematics Archives: Anonymous FTP: /mac/graphingAids Gopher: (First select "Software" then "Macintosh software arranged by subjects") GraphingAids / GnuPlot for the Macintosh --------------------------------------------------------------
