About the MuPAD library patch lib_patch_140_2.tgz :

This patch applies only to MuPAD version 1.4.0.  You need this patch
only if you have copied MuPAD 1.4.0 before 5 Mar 1998.  If you have
copied MuPAD later this patch is not needed!

If you are not sure whether you need the patch, please start MuPAD 1.4.0
and enter the command 'patchlevel();'. If the result is simply a
'2' you do not need the patch. If the result is 'patchlevel()', 0, or 1,
you may install the patch.

1.  Installing the Patch:
    ---------------------

Copy the file lib_patch_140_2.tgz into the directory
where the MuPAD library is located. Usually this is

	$MuPAD_ROOT_PATH/share/lib

(You should see files lib.tar, lib.toc,...)

In this directory extract the file:

	tar xzpf lib_patch_140_1.tgz

(If you don't have GNU tar first gunzip the *.tgz archives and then
use your system tar.)

That's all.


2.  Testing the Installation:
    -------------------------

Start MuPAD 1.4.0 as usual, then enter the command 'patchlevel();'
The command should return the result '2'.
