======================================================================= << G.O.D. v0.8 >> Gravitational Orbits Designer Copyright (C) 1993 by Filippo Portera ======================================================================= WHAT IS IT ?: G.O.D. simulates space objects motion in their gravitational field. Each object attracts other objects with a force described by the Newton gravitional force law: M1 * M2 F = G * --------- rý where G is a costant, M1 and M2 are the masses of the two objects, r is their space distance. G.O.D. allows an interactive modelling of objects in a bidimensional space and then starts to calculate the orbit of each planet following some user customized parameters. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PARAMETERS: G, acceleration costant: increase or decrease the attractive force of objects (try values very very large (e.g.: 1.0E+30) and strange things will appear); Color Rate: modify choice of orbits draw colors. Radius ratio: space dimension of the suns. ët: time period for orbits calculation (values next to 0 assure better accuracy). Lock suns: 'No' to permit suns motion,'Yes' to lock suns. Video mode: change the resolution and number of colors on the screen. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTRUCTIONS: Systems drawing is very simple: - select 'Draw' from root menu; - place suns with mouse pointer clicking left mouse button; - click right mouse button; - place planets and sets their initial velocity with left mouse button (segment length is modulo and segment orientation is direction); - click right mouse button; It's also possible to save and load system configurations with selection of these options in the root menu.
