MacCurveFit.sea.hqx MacCurveFit v 1.1.2 Dr. Kevin Raner CSIRO Division of Chemicals and Polymers, Private Bag 10, Clayton, Victoria 3149 AUSTRALIA From the internal description: "Curve Fit is a program written for scientists, science students, or anyone who wants to fit user defined functions to a set of data points." With Curve Fit, the user can specify a linear system (with dimension <= 5) of functions by typing in the general expression, e.g., f(x)=a*x + b + c/x. After the points are entered, the program plots the points (an option that can be turned off), computes and plots the least squares fit of the data with the functions, and displays other information (the correlation coefficient, the sum of the squares, and estimated errors in the coefficients) at the discretion of the user. There is also an option to constrain the coefficients. A manual and examples are included. -------------------------------------------------------------- Location in Mathematics Archives: Anonymous FTP: /mac/graphingAids /mac/linearAlgebra /mac/statistics Gopher: (First select "Software" then "Macintosh software arranged by subjects") Graphing Aids / MacCurveFit Linear Algebra / MacCurveFit Statistics / MacCurveFit --------------------------------------------------------------
