JMPDemo.sea.hqx JMP Demo, version 3.0 SAS Institute JMP is the SAS Institute's statistical program for the Macintosh. According to SAS, this demo is a full-working version of the commercial program except that the read/write features are disabled. You can open and print a table of sample data, but it will not save changes. AppleScripts are included for two automated demonstrations of key features. Information is entered into rows and columns by typing, reading external files, or by getting data directly from instruments connected to the Macintosh. Once a table is created, additional data can be created by combining columns under usual operations. Once the table of data is complete, columns are assigned Roles (Dependent, Independent, Frequency, Weight or Label) and Types (Interval, Nominal or Ordinal). A brief listing of JMP's capabilities univariate test including "t" and rank-sign tests; tests and graphs for checking normality; analysis of variance and multiple regression; polynomial and spline fitting; response surface fitting and optimization; multivariate analysis of variance; nonlinear regression with automatic derivatives and exact likelihood-based confidence limits; spinning 3D plots; correlation with scatter plot matrices; an assortment of business graphics (line, bar, and pie charts with stacking and overlays). The graphics is very strong and the package is easy to use. Runs on 4.2 or later (including 7.1 in 32-bit mode). -------------------------------------------------------------- Location in Mathematics Archives: Anonymous FTP: /mac/statistics Gopher: (First select "Software" then "Macintosh software arranged by subjects") Statistics / JMP Demo 3.0 --------------------------------------------------------------
