3DSurfaces.sea.hqx 3D Surfaces Neil Hickox hbcsc224@huey.csun.edu 3D Surfaces is a PPC-specific plotting program for surfaces of the form z=f(x,y). Several surfaces are built into a menu. User defined surfaces can be drawn by typing in the function. One of the nice features it the ability to make quicktime movies out of a series of surfaces by using a built-in parameter "i". The user should resize the image to something fairly small so that memory requirements do not become excessive. The user can position the viewpoint by adjusting values of "theta" and "phi". Unfortunately, certain values give an incorrect picture. Additionally, the "underside" of the surface is not colored differently from the upper side, so the correct perspective is occasionally difficult to see. This program was tested on a PowerMac 7100 running system 7.5.1 with no problems. -------------------------------------------------------------- Location in Mathematics Archives: Anonymous FTP: /mac/calculus /mac/graphingAids /mac/miscellaneous /mac/precalculus Gopher: (First select "Software" then "Macintosh software arranged by subjects") Calculus / 3D Surfaces Graphing Aids / 3D Surfaces Miscellaneous / 3D Surfaces Precalculus / 3D Surfaces --------------------------------------------------------------
