   This is a demo version of a very dated version of MatLab.  The Math
Works, manufacturere of the commercial verion, have agreed to this version
being posted as long there also is a statement that the current version
of MatLab for the Macintosh is greatly improved over this.  (Indeed this 
is true.)

   This demo version is restricted in that the array size has a limit
of 25 elements, FPU support has been disabled, only 276 functions are
available, hardware plotting is disabled, and files I/O of data has
been disabled.  Nevertheless, the program is sufficiently functional to
provide an impressive display of what awaits the user who buys the 
student or commercial version.  

   Matlab is a powerful numerical computational tool.  This demo package
includes functions to do the following:
     Linear equation solving, differential equation solving, polynomial
     arithmetic, nonlinear optimization, eigenvalues, matrix mathematics,
     one- and two-dimesional FFT's, Bessel and elliptic functions,
     Curve fitting and cubic splines, two- and three-dimensional graphics.
