"LifeLab is a laboratory for carrying out experiments with 2-dimensional
cellular automata, the best known example being John Conway's Game of 
Life."

Your can draw your own initial pattern, modify a pattern in progress, or
use one of the patterns accompanying the program.  Patterns can be saved, 
moved, or selected for a search.  There are several nice features including
on-line help for each command as well as an overview, hints, and a
bibliography.  (There is even an interesting TeachText file included, 
entitled "Hmmm...", containing some interesting related mathematics.)

Runs under either system 6 or system 7 and is 32-bit clean.
