FracLand.abstract Fractal!, version 1.0 (A program for generating Fractal landscapes) Ed Rotberg 308 Ramon Drive Los Altos, CA 94024 email: gonzo@ntb.apple.com Fractal! draws landscapes using the standard "fractal" method. A planar square is divided into four equal squares and each midpoint and the center of the square are displaced vertically a random amount constrained by the length of the square. The process is then repeated a number of times determined by the parameters. There is a great deal of user control through parameter settings, color settings, and altitude/depth patterns. Landscapes can be saved as PICT files. It is also possible to control the basic shape of the landscape by using a "Grid file." The program runs on current systems. -------------------------------------------------------------- Location in Mathematics Archives: Anonymous FTP: /mac/fractals Gopher: (First select "Software" then "Macintosh software arranged by subjects") Fractals / Fractal!
