Why BasicFacts Maker? After hours spent making up basic facts worksheets for my students, I got the bright idea that perhaps this would be a good job for the computer. With this in mind, I spent some time searching for an application that would do the job. In my search, I found that there were literally thousands of educational programs available in the marketplace, however, most of these programs are based on student interaction with the computer. Few are designed with the interests of the regular classroom teacher in mind. Yes it would be nice if every student had access to a Mac to run an exciting program to teach math facts. The reality is most teacher do not. BasicFacts Maker is a program designed to make teaching basic math facts easier for teachers. What Is BasicFacts Maker? It is essential that children demonstrate a mastery of basic math facts for sums and minuends to 18, and products and dividends through 81. One way to accomplish this is to give students daily practice solving these facts. Students are given a time limit to solve twenty five math facts on a worksheet. The amount of time depends on the the grade level or ability of the students. It's not very high tech, but it is an effective teaching strategy. BasicFacts MakerII generates student worksheets with 25 addition, subtraction, multiplication or division facts for practicing basic math facts. An unlimited number of different worksheets can be made for students along with a teacher answer sheet. How does BasicFacts Maker Work? To make a worksheet, simply choose the operation you want to use from the Main Menu and a new math sheet will appear. Choose Change Facts from the BasicFacts menu to change the numbers in each of the equations. Choose Print from the File menu to print a teacher answer page and a student worksheet. To scroll to the bottom of the page, you need only to move the pointer in the direction you want to scroll and the scroll tool will appear.
