Samad Mortabit St. Andrews Presbyterian College Department of Mathematics Laurinburg, NC 28352 Samad.Mortabit@lambada.oit.unc.edu For the last several months, I have been involved in developing interactive text in the following areas: 1. Calculus: Project Calc in MathKit. The first semester of project Calc laboratory manual is completed in MathKit, and the second semester in progress. This will be available to the participants in the conference to examine. These labs are developed in an environment where reading, exploring, discussion, writing, and reporting all take place within the same application. The authoring environment used here is Mathwright (James E. White, IAT) 2. Dynamical Systems: An extensive interactive text on discrete dynamical systems and their properties. Among other things, this text includes discussion of orbit structure, bifurcations, bifurcation diagrams, sensitive dependence on initial conditions, entropy, Lyapunov exponents, conjugacy, chaos, and some applications. This project is also developed in the authoring environment Mathwright. 3.Explorations in Differential Equations .
