The CSIRO Biometrics Unit (IPPP) has been developing a Windows-based
software product for power and sample-size calculations. The software also
incorporates electronic statistical tables for common discrete and
continuous distributions.

A beta release of POWER PLANT is available via anonymous ftp
from:

                 : Anonymous ftp:   ftp.per.its.csiro.au

                 : Directory:            /csiro-wa/biometrics

which contains the two files:
                 README     - information on downloading/installation
                 PRPLANT.EXE - Self-extracting Installation program.

Furthermore, a self-extracting archive (MANUAL.EXE) is produced after
installation. Running this executable will produce a Microsoft Word document
MANUAL.DOC which is an abridged version of the PowerPlant documentation.

We will happily attend to bugs and welcome feedback on functionality, ease
of use etc. However, we will not provide support and assistance with the use
of the software and interpretation of its output.

Please note, that the software is being released as "freeware". Potential
users should be aware of the disclaimers issued with the software and must
agree to the terms and conditions which are displayed prior to installation.
