           Using Mathematics to Improve Writing Skills

     This paper proposed that mathematics can be used to improve writing 
skills. The study is designed to explore a possible relationship between 
mathematics (algebraic and arithmetic manipulation) and writing (syntax 
manipulation).  Pre-and Post-test scores of experimental and control groups 
are recorded and compared.  A predictive relationship will be investigated 
for the two disciplines.  In addition, worksheets that are designed to 
reinforce the similarities of both algebra and grammar are included in the 
study so that both algebraic and writing abilities are strengthened.
