There is an alternative, reform, NEW approach to calculus for the non-scientific (business, economics, liberal arts, managment, and social science) majors. Using real-world data and graphing calculators together with elementary math modeling techniques, students develop a better understanding of selected topics of calculus . Presenters will discuss the philosophy behind and demonstrate selected problems from CALCULUS CONCEPTS written by a group originally from Clemson University. Come prepared to participate! (BYOC: bring your own calculator; a TI-83 is preferred)
