Workshop: Creating Interactive Spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications

This session will teach hands-on how Excel can be used to create interactive spreadsheet templates for exploring mathematical relationships (middle and secondary school level). These types of spreadsheets are used in preservice mathematics methods courses to teach preservice teachers at the University of Virginia how to use this commonly available software application to actively engage students in learning mathematical concepts. Several of these spreadsheets files are available for download at: http://curry.edschool.virginia.edu/

Participants should be familar with Excel and have some introduction to programming.
