ABSTRACT
The struggle between the utility and beauty of mathematics is a conundrum
any instructor must address. In linear algebra at UNC, students explore
concepts rich in mathematical relationships and in applications. Using
technology to support explorations and understanding is critical. This
paper discusses how technology is utilized in exploration and the impact
this approach has on student attitudes.
